End of year Refection 2016

This year I have been hard at work to put up some of my best work that I am really proud of.


 This year we have been working very hard to complete our goals. 

I was really proud of my Position and Orientation I worked with Trent. The unique floor... 

Im also really proud of my RFW ( Random Friday Writing)

Once upon a time there was a evil fish merman and he ruled the ocean he was so cruel he used seahorses as slaves to carry things around the ocean but one day a good worthy king (well a merman) challenged him to a duel so…

Master fishy-but (his name) had decided he would win so he said you can be master if you win but everyone knows I will he said they fighted and fighted but then the merman whacked him he fell to the sand then the merman punched wacked and slammed him until he could barely get up and then he swam him up to the  top of the ocean and used his strength to chuck him onto the sand and from now on master merman rules the ocean and treats everyone fairly so no-one is hurt or treated badly and now on the sea is ruled by king merman. Or master and they are all happy as can be…

But that was 1000 years ago he’s not alive surely so one fellow seahorse went down to see if he was. Sure enuf he was she closed her eyes then said i'm dreaming somebody pinch me then suddenly she said OUCH! It was the king himself! See couldn't believe her eyes it was him she felt like she was going to faint. So she went around the sea telling all sea creatures she knows that thought he was dead in the great sea war that's what we all thought. But when the word spread enough they all gathered round and celebrated again and say LONG LIVE THE KING! Everyone cheered they were all so happy he was still alive.

They were all so happy that the king decided to give out gifts they were all so excited some people got as little as a piece of seaweed and some people got as big as a diamond random gifs to everyone he said then suddenly a black hole came as they all swam all of them got away expect for this 5yr mermaid her mother and the king they ran
then suddenly the little girl fell and got caught up on some seaweed the king went back to get her the black hole got closer and closer then suddenly...

 When Phoebe finds a beautiful thing at the flea market she's not sure if it's  valuable as it looks. But inside she discovers something really amazing a letter written while World War 2 from a young girl to her sister who's been evacuated from London.The letter includes a spell for bringing people closer together and thats what phoebe needs she wants her sister bring her closer and that thing at the flea market which lead to a list of clues leading all through the city. To help her bring her sister closer. This is a very good book.

anyway this week literacy we have done a Graeme poem because a very loved caretaker thank you Graeme we have wrote to Graeme. He was a great care taker Thank you.

This week for literacy, we have been doing Christmas activities. I made a Christmas tree out of the song 12 days to Christmas but in kiwi style. Here is my attempt to do it. It was really fun doing the Christmas tree.

Reading

This week I did an activity and it was why is there 7 days in a week. So we had to explain why there is 7 days a week and do like the topics in them. I have written it all down you will have to read it to find it out.

This week for word work I got 2 activities done, here they are.

This is fancy letters it is where you use a different font for each letter like I have done here.

For writing this week we did an earthquake recount, here's mine. I liked doing this writing because it was super fun writing about our experience of the earthquakes.

Angeline is really smart. She knows way more than a child of her age. When she is moved up a class at school she finds that her intelligence doesn't take her with it when she is dealing with the pressure of being with the older class. Soon she is finding it hard with a teacher and her tropical fish and another weird student named Gary.

kiwi kids news and typing speed test

 I got 90% out of 100 in the kiwi kids news test. I got 1 wrong that I did not know. Some of them were a guess.

my speed typing was not the best I can definitely improve.

This week for numeracy we have been doing problem solving and we have  been working really hard here are some of them. These are all the ones I have done this week 

I also have done one where we had to recreate a image. First we got 2 minutes to look at it, then 1 minute to discuss it and then 5 minutes to recreate. It was really hard but this is what it turned out like. This is our best attempt.

This is my explanation burger we had to read Sally and the Cheese, then we had to do this. We had to say what the book was about and put the main points in. Next we had to put the conclusion to the book.

Interactive cloze activity

THE WALRUS

The walrus, Odobensus rosmarus, is a large flippered marine mammal. It is the only living species in the Odobenidae family. The family name, Odobensus, means "tooth walker", because of the way they drag themselves along the ice using their tusks. The species  Odobensus, rosmarus, comes from the Norwegian word for "whale horse".

The walrus is a close relative of seals, but unlike the  seals has two separate hind legs. Males reach 4 m in length and weigh up to 1200 kg, while females only reach half this size Walrus are best known for their unique tusks, the only ones of their kind among marine Mammals . They are actually two very long canine teeth.

Walruses live in the Arctic Ocean and sub-Arctic seas of the Northern Hemisphere. In Summer , walrus herds often lie in the sun on small islands or ice floes. During the winter breeding season, animals move to areas of open water. When feeding, walruses dive up to 100 m in search of clams, their main food.

Walrus calves are born in May and usually stay with their parents  for two years. Females therefore breed only every second or  third year. Males reach maturity much later in life than females because they need to reach a larger size before they can Fight in battles for access to females. Dominance among males is established by physical combat during the breeding season, and they fight with their tusks. The winner gains control of up to 100 breeding females.

The walrus has been hunted for its meat, fat, skin, tusks and bone. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the walrus was killed for its blubber and ivory and numbers declined rapidly. In recent times however their numbers have increased.

Summary    This book is about two girls who are best friends but Gemma  realized  that Alice is not telling her something then finally Alice told her they are moving to Scotland Gemma got so sad that she screamed and yelled but then Alice told Gemma she wanted to run away and Gemma thought she was tricking but she wasn't but her parents caught then near the train and get taken back home but Alice and Gemma will always be best friends.
